The New Rules of Hollywood...

These are new thoughts since moving away from Hollywood this year. The industry is in dire shape and I am hoping for a rebirth and liberation of cinema soon. Disclaimer: this is one of my more controversial posts.

    1. Science is convenient to your position. It isn’t fact - it’s arrogant assertion.

    2. Your values, faith, and personal beliefs are no longer valid. Only conformity is welcomed.

    3. Marxism is most righteous - if you’re rich no matter how you gained your wealth or how you spend it ... you are unrighteous.

    4. We are no longer story telling - Hollywood is a propaganda machine to its detriment. It propagates the religion of utopia of big government.

    5. Everyone should feel shame - no one is safe. They will eat their own and cancel livelihood and careers with no trial.

    6. Actors, writers, producers, directors and filmmakers must only tell their own stories and are only ones fit to share their experiences. No more acting and no more art or even telling diverse stories... only those of similar backgrounds can tell certain stories. Everyone must stay in their own boxes and lanes.

    7. Hollywood no longer celebrates art or freedom of expression... it celebrates anarchy and agendas they choose yearly. Best picture goes to the board of governors of the academy of motion arts and sciences. The pursuit of excellence in art is only an illusion to set you up for failure and disappointment.

I sent this to a close friend of mine that used to work in Hollywood and he said that if this is true... it is sad and depressing that Hollywood is in this state. I agree. But we first have to diagnosis the issue - and this ideology is a big problem and a cancer that is spreading. Hollywood due to covid-19 will decentralize, and that is a good thing. It is time to tell new stories.
