    This is an easy Post.

Reductionism is an abiding tactic of the revolutionary left (now operating in your home town.).

It is the notion that the complex problems of the human condition require just a handful of ‘total solutions’ like . . .

    agricultural collectivization.

    The abolition of private property.

The abolition of nations and families.

The abolition of police and prisons.

    Killing all your opponents.

    The centralization of everything.

Class politics (at the expense of all other forms of human solidarity).

Some items on this list have lost their cachet. No one, for example – after the disasters of the U.S.S.R., China, and Cambodia – is crazy enough to try agricultural collectivization again.

Meanwhile though, gender politics are really beginning to look reductionist.

This will take some figuring out, readers! We’ll need to progress from mere ‘kiddies trapped in the wrong bodies’ to theorizing to what insane lengths we suspect that ‘trans’ may go.

Finally, this post is the introduction to Are Mentally Ill Queer Children The New Working Class? which will be up shortly.

PS One of the eye-witness accounts of the fall of Phnom Penh comes from someone who was nearby the Cambodian Reserve Bank when it was blown up. The writer recalls banknotes drifting down from the sky, and wondered, ‘What sort of political regime doesn’t expect to need money?!’
