‘So the boys, despite having an XY chromosome, appear female when they are born. At puberty, like other boys, they get a second surge of testosterone. This time the body does respond and they sprout muscles, testes and a penis.’

Please do not think me antagonistic. Our goal is to understand how the political left has used bogus science to advance its political agenda. But what about semi-bogus science? One-quarter bogus? 3.2% bogus?

Suppose you state that all rabbits have blue eyes. How many green-eyed rabbits do I then need to produce to prove you wrong. The answer is:

if I produce just one green-eyed rabbit, you are 100% wrong.

Okay. Deep breath: boys are boys, and girls are girls. That’s a practically correct position to take in order to stop the looney left from luring depressed teenage girls into having their breasts amputated.

But there are three green-eyed rabbits; and there will be Posts this year that will teach you enough to not be caught out in arguments on this subject.

Intersex is a reality; disorders of development are a reality; and the ‘guevedoche’ of the Dominican Republic seem to be well documented.* Boys-are-boys-and-girls-are-girls is a little more complex than it seems at first.

*I am sure I recall that the Trobriand Islands was the other area where children exhibited this trait, but I find the Sambia Highlands of New Guinea on the Net:

‘We report a cluster of male pseudohermaphrodites from the Simbari Anga linguistic group in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. These subjects are born with a rudimentary clitoral-like penis and pseudovaginal perineoscrotal hypospadias.’

‘A similar cluster of cases among the Simbari of the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea has the local name 'Kwolu-aatmwol' ('female thing transforming into male thing').’
