This is a difficult Post, about alliance-building.

For feminists, the concern with gender ideology is erasure: if every man can be a woman, what does ‘woman’ mean?

For those committed to science, gender ideology is bizarre anti-science infiltrating actual science.

For religious folks, ‘man’ and ‘woman’ and the biological family are the bedrock of society, to be fiercely protected.

For anti-left and libertarian activists, the authoritarian left is a danger regardless of what barrow it is pushing this decade.

Meanwhile, the left exhibits today a propensity it has always exhibited: solidarity.

Revolutionists and reformists and Marxist academics and overwrought university students and trade unionists (and conniving corporatists . . . ) are able to present a unified front on issues.

Nothing except alliances of the broadest and most accommodating types – like Hands across The Aisle – will provide the necessary leverage.

    Nothing.
