A common response to the idea that "the increasing wealth gap is a problem for general society and most people" is that taxing the rich would not be enough anyway to pay for the deficit in government spending.

But this is not the issue.

The proposition is not that the rich should pay with their money, the proposition is that the rich want to maintain the system intact and their wealth is allowing them to achieve that.

The 1% has no incentive to change anything i society. This does not make them bad humans, most of us would do the same in their situation, it is human nature to gather and protect what you have. True altruism is a rare thing, basically non existing imo. And the concern for others more unfortunate may be addressed through charity and elegant words, but has a sharp restriction for when it would effect the personal situation, position and comfort of the 1% person.

I do not blame the rich. I see that the economic system and the narrative around it, grown over several centuries, has its functionality and it do what it is supposed to do. The system concentrates wealth to those luck (or by doing good work) to have accumulated some and then continuously works to increase it on others expense.

So the 1% rich needs not to pay out of their pockets, that is not the problem.

We need a system that distributes wealth, our common planets resources, more evenly and fair.

One aspect of this is that bitcoin is being heavily targeted and addressed as unsafe and damaging for ordinary people and society. The truth is that bitcoin represents a potential new system that dismantles some of the tools the rich uses to maintain the current system. Therefor it must be stopped.
